GO4BATHURST COMMUNITY INFORMATION

Bringing communities together, working with Lifeline

Go4Bathurst is a reinvented version of the previous Blayney to Bathurst and Bathurst Classic cycling events, which last ran in 2021, building on their history of bringing riders and local communities together.

Go4Foundation’s founder and president held the first Go4 event in 2016 after experiencing his own mental health challenges. At a time when mental health was less openly discussed, he wanted to give back to the community and help others facing similar challenges.

This new chapter puts community connection and mental health at the heart of the event. With more than $650,000 raised to date, our fundraising efforts reflect a longstanding commitment to supporting mental health and Lifeline’s vital work helping people in distress.

Through the shared joy of exercise and cycling, our goal is to build stronger, more connected communities, encourage conversations about mental health and bring people together to support those who need help.

At Go4Foundation, we have a simple motto: every dollar we raise can save a life.

Keeping our communities informed

We know an event involving local roads affects the people who live, work and travel along the route. With our road events scheduled for Sunday, 18 April 2027 we are committed to working with affected communities so you have clear, practical information and time to plan.

Villages which will be impacted by road closures – Perthville, Newbridge, Trunkey Creek, Caloola, Rockley, Lagoon and Mount Panorama.

As arrangements are confirmed with Bathurst and Blayney Council’s, Transport for New South Wales and New South Wales police, we will share details of the event route, proposed road closures, closure times, alternative routes and local access arrangements. We will also provide a contact point for questions and concerns.

Local knowledge matters. We want to hear from residents, businesses and community organisations so their needs can inform our planning.

Emergency access is always a priority

Road closures must not prevent emergency services from reaching anyone who needs help. Maintaining emergency access throughout the event is a core requirement of our planning.

Our proposed arrangements include NSW Police and NSW Ambulance personnel positioned along the course to support the event and respond to emergencies along the route, which include any emergencies within the community. Emergency access arrangements will be coordinated with the relevant agencies and included in the final traffic management plan.

Working together

We want Go4Bathurst to be an event our communities can feel part of and proud to support. That means listening, sharing information and working together to deliver an event that supports connection, mental health and Lifeline.
