VIC100

100KM/2200M – PENRITH TO MT VICTORIA
NOVEMBER SUNDAY 16TH 2025

RIDE THE ICONIC BELLS LINE OF
ROAD WITH NO THROUGH TRAFFIC

After many meetings with community groups and government agencies, VIC100 is now locked in for Sunday 16th of November 2025. Final planning is now underway to ensure cyclists get to enjoy this stunning route through the Blue Mountains of NSW while we raise funds and awareness for mental health working with Lifeline as our charity partner.

VIC100 is our new charity cycle event. It’s a 100km cycling event from Penrith to Mt Victoria via the iconic and stunning Bells Line of Road, closed to all through traffic. Unlike the current GFB event to Broke, VIC100 is designed for 1000 to 2000 entrants, with train stations at the start and finish line. But for our first year we’re limiting the event to 800 riders. So don’t wait to register!

Riders will self select one of four speed groups, of approximatly 200 riders each. The group speed guides below are based on the average speed you can maintain over a 50km undulating to hilly course. Remember, VIC100 has over 2200 meters of vertical climbing and two steep climbs at Bell Bird Hill and Mt Tomah. Your average speeds on event day will be a lot slower.

Group One – Departs 5.30am – avg speed guide 17km-20km/hour
Group Two – Departs 6.15am – avg speed guide 21km-24km/hour
Group Three – Departs 7.00am – avg speed guide 25km-28km/hour
Group Four – Departs 7.30am – avg speed guide 29km-33km/hour or higher

All registered riders will receive a detailed riders guide a month out from the event. Click here to see the Strava Route and event guide.

Unlike our current GFB to Broke event, after riders pass through North Richmond, ghosted by escort vehicles, riders can leave the peloton and go at their own pace. REMEMBER VIC100 IS NOT A RACE and all participants must obey NSW traffic and road rules.

At the core of this event is supporting and raising funds for Lifeline Harbour to Hawkesbury Sydney, Lifeline Macarthur Western Sydney and Lifeline Central West. The founder, Ed Kirk started Go for Broke in 2016 after his own battle with mental health. Before Covid, mental health and anxiety was a tabu subject. Now in 2025, although the community is much more open with this terrible disease, nine Australian’s still lose their battle with mental health each day. For every suicide, 20 people try.

Go for Broke is a not-for-profit, run by volunteers. No one takes a salary, a fee or a commission. We do all this so the funds we raise ensures we can put on great events like VIC100 while raising much needed funds for Lifeline.

We hope by the time the first rider departs Penrith, corporate partners will help us meet any revenue short fall. Otherwise Lifeline have agreed up to 20% of the funds raised will help cover events costs like traffic control to close Bells Line of Road and user pays police.

Here at Go for Broke, we ask everyone to raise donations for one charity. A charity that puts the community first and helps so many within the community on a local and national level. Here at Go4Broke we know every dollar makes a difference, every dollar can save a life. Help us help Lifeline.

Join us for our first VIC100 and help us help Lifeline while we make history!
