VIC100 COMMUNITY INFORMATION

VIC100 is an exciting new charity cycling event set for 2025, featuring a 800-rider, 100km route from Penrith to Mount Victoria. Through community consultation VIC100 is planned for late October or early November 2025. Organised by the Go for Broke Initiative, a not-for-profit incorporated association led by dedicated volunteers, VIC100 builds on nearly a decade of successful fundraising. Since its inception, the Go for Broke Initiative has hosted the 180km Go for Broke ride from Berowra to Broke in the Hunter Valley, raising over $500,000 for Lifeline with only a 100 riders per year.

VIC100 aims to continue this tradition, raising critical funds for mental health services in partnership with Lifeline Central West, Lifeline Macarthur & Western Sydney, and Lifeline Harbour to Hawkesbury Sydney. In November 2024, we are holding a series of meetings with communities along Bells Line of Road to discuss event details and address any concerns. Given safety considerations, NSW Police have requested that traffic be minimised on Bells Line of Road and Darling Causeway. Therefore, we are proposing a partial road closure from 6 am to 11 am along BLOR and will be discussing logistics, safety measures, and emergency plans with local residents and businesses.

On event day there will be a Master and Control system in place that will have communications with St John, NSW Police, Ambulance NSW, Transport for NSW and all rider rest stops on course. In addition VIC100 will have approx 50 Traffic Control marshals and 100 volunteers on course to ensure the safety of all participant and the community.

Our goal is to work collaboratively to minimise disruptions while showcasing the breathtaking beauty of the Blue Mountains. VIC100 offers cyclists a unique opportunity to experience this stunning route on a special day of the year, all while raising much-needed funds for Lifeline.
